Fundraising concert Sunday 10 June 2018 and newsflash on auction

A reminder that our fundraising concert will take place at the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre  on 10th June, commencing at 2.00 pm. Tickets are on sale at The Alternative Bookshop in Bellingen and Helloworld Travel in Nambucca Heads. Alternatively you can reserve your tickets for collection at the front desk by phoning Marlene on 6569 5419. We have a great programme of classical music and some jazz by well known local pianist Heather Rose, and a short set by the indomitable Wild Women of Anywhere Beach. Please buy your tickets soon.
If you would like to donate a raffle prize, then please email Marlene at:  marlene.griffin46@bigpond.com.

You will all be aware that Archibald and Sulman prize winner Wendy Sharpe very generously agreed to donate a work of art for us to auction as part of our fundraiser to support the Asylum Seekers Centre. Well, we have not one, but two of Wendy’s paintings to auction! Photos of the two works follow this newsflash and they will be on display at Sunday’s concert.  The first work is painted in oil on canvass, and is part of a series that Wendy painted of Circus Oz artistes in action. This one is entitled “Lili Koi with Pink Light”. It measures 30 cm by 30 cm and has been on sale for $3800. The second work is a framed watercolour painting entitled “Antarctic Landscape with Bird” which was completed recently. It measures 31 cm by 25 cm.

Your bid will be placed in a sealed envelope along with other bids. The deadline for submitting a bid is 5.00 pm on the final  day of Refugee Week, Sunday 24th June. We have decided to set the minimum bid for “Lili Koi with Pink Light” at $950, and “Atlantic Landscape With Bird” at $350. Please contact Mike if you are not able to attend Sunday’s concert but would like to view the paintings.
We hope to see you at the Fundraiser concert on Sunday 10th June at 2.00 pm at the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre.
Mike
