Hi Everyone
Welcome to 2015, I will not say Happy New Year because it will not be a positive year for asylum seekers unless there is a change to more compassionate policies on immigration.

However many people are trying hard to make an impact for change.
Hi Rural Australians for Refugees ... everywhere
Seasons Greetings.
As you may be aware, a group of six RAR groups in central Victoria (Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Daylesford, Macedon Ranges and Maryborough) along with other like-minded groups, and a few passionate individuals, have been meeting as a centralised group for some time under the title of Central Victorian Refugee Support Network.
Our aim has been to co-ordinate and strengthen the work of individual groups, and to grow the number of RAR and similar groups across the country.
To assist this process, we have re-constituted the national RAR Website.
This email is to –
- Welcome the return of the national network of Rural Australians for Refugees
- Let you know that there is a NEW Rural Australians for Refugees Website at http://www.ruralaustraliansforrefugees.org.au/
- Ask those of you who use a personal email address for your groups, if you would like to have that added as the contact on the website. If not, you may prefer to create an email address using the generic format – e.g. Rural Australians for Refugees - Bendigo – rarbendigo@gmail.com
- Be patient as we gradually build the website, and add content. All suggestions and comments you make are welcome, though not all will automatically be acted upon.
- NB - Ask you to delete any link you have online or in your literature to the old website at - http://www.ruralaustraliansforrefugees.org as this site has been hijacked by an overseas commercial operator.
- Please reply to this email with your permission to add your RAR Group contact details to the national Website.
Warm regards
Jan Govett – Bendigo RAR
