Next Market stall at Bellingen Saturday 21 May 2016
Our next market stall will be at Bellingen market on Saturday 21st May. We are looking for volunteers to assist John and Mike between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm. If you can spare an hour or two, then please email Mike at mandm.griffin2@bigpond.com. As usual, we will be giving out information, selling our asylum seeker merchandise, collecting petitions and engaging with the public. A great time, as the election approaches, to promote a more principled, humane and lawful approach to our treatment of asylum seekers.

A big thank you to all our supporters who have volunteered to help on the day of the concert. We now have sufficient people to ensure that the event will run smoothly.
We are still looking for two key people for the following tasks:
1. Refreshments organiser. We need somebody to coordinate the contributions of food for the refreshments at the end of the concert. This involves being the point of contact for people to ring or email to indicate what they will bring to share for the refreshments – cakes, biscuits, nibbles etc. We can then assess whether we need to buy anything in addition to tea, coffee and milk. We have enough people who are willing to help with refreshments on the day.
If anyone would be prepared to coordinate this, which is not a huge task, then please let Mike know by phoning him on 6569 5419, or email at mandm.griffin2@bigpond.com.
2. Raffle organiser. We need somebody to take this on. It involves seeking a few raffle prizes, which could be small items to go in a hamper, a donation of a painting etc etc. We already have enough volunteers to sell the raffle tickets at the concert.... but so far we have nothing to raffle! So if you can offer a prize, no matter how small, please let Mike know. And if you could offer to organise the raffle.. better still!
Finally, you will find a poster for the concert attached to this newsletter. If you could display a poster at your place of work, your social club or anywhere else where it might be seen by the public, that would be much appreciated.
