Coffs Harbourside Market Report

Well, it was certainly a cold morning in Coffs Harbour on Sunday, but the weather didn’t keep people away. We had lots of interest from members of the public, who continue to be appalled at our country’s cruel and inhumane treatment of asylum seekers and refugees. We collected a good number of signatures on our final petition before the election,  and signed up  ten new supporters, bringing our total to more than 420. There weren’t many people keen to buy T shirts on such a cold morning, and we are still waiting for a new supply of tea towels, having sold out at the Simon Tedeschi concert, but we did have some buyers for our Boat People bags!
Our next market stall will be at Bellingen Market on Saturday 16th July.

Our Donations to ChilOut and Refugee Advice and Support Service

You will know from last week’s newsletter that we were able to send $2,000 each to our two chosen charities.
Andrew Kelly from RACS wrote : “This is a tremendous result for RACS. Thanks to you and your group for all your efforts to support our work at RACS. With gratitude and kind regards.”
Zoe Grant from ChilOut  wrote: “I am so glad to hear that the concert went well. What an amazing amount of money you raised, thank you so much! The $2,000 will really contribute to our work. Thank you for your ongoing support and fundraising efforts. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful group supporting us”.
